I've had a deep, deep nostalgia for the old web and old fandom since livejournal began heavily dying around 2010. I started making websites in 2000, when I got into the gundam wing fandom, starting with shrines and blogs and then just expanding to a huge variety of sites. I've made probably 30+ sites over the years. I purchased my first domain name and webhosting space in October 2003, from a company called E-Starr. I was still a teenager, and dutifully sent off my five dollars cash every month in the mail to pay for it.
eventually, as the old web faded and the idea of having personal websites began to die out, I stopped maintaining many of my sites, reducing it down to just the few that still mattered to me. at some point, I stopped being able to afford my own domain, and I let it lapse (I'd switched to JaguarPC by that point). I found free hosting on altervista.org, but it felt very lonely and like I was updating into a void. I stopped maintaining my fanfic site, which was the only one left that needed regular maintaining.
But I missed it, and then neocities came to my attention, and I spent a few years telling myself I'd check it out and maybe move my site over. It took me awhile, but I'm finally doing it. I don't know if anyone will stop by and visit my humble little nostalgic spot on the web, but at least I don't feel like I'm the only one left here now (:
this is a landing site for fayth's other sites, so you won't find anything here except links. right now existing sites are currently in the process of being updated and then migrated, and one site is not yet created. I'm disabled, so I can be slow about things sometimes, but hopefully everything will be here soon enough!
if you're interested and want to know more about a site, read on down below! or, if you want to learn a bit about me and my history with making websites, look to the sidebar!
noesis is my fanfic archive that holds the majority of all the posted fanfic I've written since I first discovered fanfic in april 2000! it is ironically the most complete archive, as a lot of my older stuff I chose not to migrate to ao3, and a lot of my newer stuff is not posted on fanfiction.net since I abandoned it at the end of 2017. there's also a couple fics that can be found here and nowhere else. this is the only site that will stay elsewhere; as neocities (frustratingly) doesn't support php and the layout (and my sanity) very much relies on it.
shining collection is my icon collection archive. it holds all of my old 100x100 icons I made back in the livejournal days, and I'm considering putting up some of my other old graphics that don't look terrible (if I have any). it will also hold some table codes I made for online TCG games when those became popular on livejournal for awhile. online TCGs probably aren't big anymore, but the tables could still be good for displaying blinkie collections and such if you want. everything here is free to be used, no credit necessary, though a link back is always appreciated!
stardust will be a small site simply for me to post fun screencaps from cozy video games I play. primarily just to show off; I'll likely post farms I've made in farming sims like stardew valley and fields of mistria, my island and villager houses I've decorated in animal crossing, cute areas I've made in garden galaxy or tiny glade, etc. it's not yet created so it may take a bit to appear!
layout code is from Aithere, and modified by me. originally it was the "Shortcake" layout. the header is an image of Dys from the game I was a Teenage Exocolonist featuring lyrics from the song The Child You Were by Frances Aravel, which plays in the game.
